Reading an RFE's tone changed how urgently I treated different objections

Building on the community post here about reading officer tone — wanted to add a concrete example of how that distinction actually changed my prioritization, not just my understanding. My RFE had one objection that read almost like a form request ("submit additional documentation regarding X") and another that specifically quoted a claim from my petition and asked pointed follow-up questions about it. I treated these very differently in practice: the form-like one, I handled relatively quickly by supplying the requested documentation. The pointed one, I spent real time on — drafting, redrafting, and having someone else read my response before finalizing it, because it read like the officer had specific doubts I needed to actually address, not just a documentation checklist item. In hindsight, that differentiated effort was the right call — treating every objection with identical weight would have meant either under-investing in the one that actually needed careful persuasion, or over-investing time in something that just needed straightforward compliance.
